ICPNT Chair Statement

Welcome to the website of International Council for Perioperative Neuroscience Training, where you can find our mission and the charter describing our goal to improve the training of expert perioperative physicians involved in the management of patients with neurologic diseases.

The ICPNT is focused on accrediting fellowship training programs including neuroanesthesiology at an international level. Our charter and program requirements are thus written in a manner which we expect will cross national boundaries, while still describing and standardizing what we consider to be requirements for training programs. We aim to set the standard on fellowship graduates with skills suitable to take care of patients with neurologic diseases, while being cognitively prepared to teach those who follow, support innovations in clinical neuroscience, and create relevant new neuroscience knowledge.

Administratively the ICPNT resides in the Society of Neuroscience in Anesthesiology and Critical Care (SNACC) www.snacc.org, a professional society incorporated in the United States with an international mission oriented to perioperative neuroscience. While receiving valuable support from SNACC during its inception, ICPNT is intended to be financially and functionally autonomous from SNACC.
